1937
1937 Bob and Irwin Botto opened a plumbing, hardware, and appliance business in downtown Hicksville, Long Island, to serve the new growth of central Nassau County during the late 1930's, 40's, and 50's. While most of their work focused on new construction, the building was used as a base of operation until the mid 1950's.
1954
1937 Due to the growth of the construction industry, the brothers decided to separate the hardware and plumbing businesses. Bob and Irwin continued to focus on the sales and operations of the hardware and appliance business. Richard and Irv Botto took over the plumbing side of the business, growing to become one of the largest and most well-respected plumbing and heating firms in Nassau County. They operated the plumbing division until the mid 60's, employing as many as 25 plumbers.
1963
Botto Brothers was separated once again, to allow the plumbing union access to the major construction jobs that were taking place. Richard ran the company independently until the mid 80's, when his two sons, Hunter and Roger, decided to join the family business. At this time, Hunter was discharged from his position as a Propulsion Engineer in the US Navy, and Roger had completed studies at the State University at Delhi, receiving a degree in occupational studies. They both worked in the field and in the office with together for many years with their father.
1993
Richard Botto retired, allowing Hunter and Roger Botto to purchase the operation and continue the family business.
2006
Botto Brothers is still owned and operated by Hunter and Roger Botto, and continues to be one of the most well-respected and recognized plumbing and heating contractors on Long Island. Hunter and Roger are both licensed master plumbers, and they maintain a fleet of seven radio-dispatched trucks from their base and showroom in Hicksville, Long Island. They have reduced the overall size of the company to return to their original focus back in 1937: to provide high-end, specialized plumbing and heating solutions.
